Atrium Network, provider of smarter connectivity for the financial community today announced further expansion into the Canadian market offering ultra low latency connectivity to Omega ATS; the Toronto-based alternative trading system for Canadian exchange-listed securities.

Atrium Network's low latency connectivity to the heart of the Omega ATS data centre at 151 Front Street, Toronto, ensures simple, resilient, high-speed access to the Canadian financial community via the latest dark fibre technology. Establishing connectivity to Atrium Network's PoPs provides high-speed access to many of the global trading hubs and is designed to mitigate the cost and risk of unnecessary co‐location investment. Participants can connect their trading engines seamlessly onto the extranet network and be assured of the lowest possible latency access to all global exchanges, ATSs, ECNs, MTFs, Clearing Counterparties, Settlement Depositaries and vendors.

Commenting on the addition of Omega ATS to the network, Emmanuel Pellé, Executive Director of Atrium Network said, "We are delighted to welcome Omega ATS to our growing community of participants. As part of our North American expansion strategy, we are pleased to provide our community with enhanced access to the major venues within the Canadian market. Our approach is to simplify connectivity to help clients take advantage of opportunities as they arise in the rapidly changing marketplace. We provide unparalleled choice of access to the financial community in Europe and North America, and continue to increase our reach into new geographies and markets."

Randy Bucking, the IT Director of Omega ATS, added, "Atrium Network's simplified approach to connectivity aligns with our simplified and cost effective approach to trading. The provision of ultra low latency connectivity can help our trading participants significantly reduce trading costs and maximise on order processing speed. Since launch we have sourced providers of innovative, low-cost technology services in order to enhance the competitiveness and access of our offering while delivering cost efficiencies to our end client base. We applaud Atrium Network on their recent innovations in the European and US marketsmarkets and look forward to a close working relationship with the Atrium Network team."
