Separately, Bloomberg, the leading global provider of news, data and analytics, today announced the launch of the Morgan Stanley Basket Default Pricer on Bloomberg. This is the first synthetic CDO / Large Basket Default Swap Calculator to be integrated to a platform with the power to value large baskets within seconds. The function is accessible on the BLOOMBERG® TERMINAL at CDSM .

The Morgan Stanley Basket Default Pricer on Bloomberg is available to all users of the Bloomberg Terminal. The calculator enables Bloomberg users to price large and small baskets of credit derivatives and structured finance products in a simple and transparent way. The Morgan Stanley Basket Default Pricer on Bloomberg allows users to price up to a 150 name reference portfolio in the basket default swaps market incorporating Morgan Stanley’s credit correlation model.

This additional Bloomberg functionality gives users a quick and easy way to price basket default swaps. What has historically been a complex calculation on these advanced structures is now attainable in seconds on the Bloomberg terminal for Hedge Funds, Dealers, Portfolio Managers and all other Bloomberg users in the Credit Derivatives Market.

"The introduction of this new function on the Bloomberg terminal reflects Bloomberg's commitment to add value for our users through continual product development and new functions at no additional cost," according to Harry Lipman of Bloomberg. Bloomberg's Credit Default Swap page has become a market standard in calculating single name credit default swaps, along with Bloomberg's Credit Default Swap data and the Bloomberg Credit Default Swap Nth to default basket calculator."

"The Morgan Stanley pricing model on the Bloomberg terminal will help our clients manage tranched credit risk and open up the burgeoning credit derivatives market to new investors," said Lisa Watkinson, an Executive Director at Morgan Stanley. "Correlation trading is a major source of investment opportunity," Watkinson added.
