Belgian insurance company Mercator is to take Barrie & Hibbert's Economic Scenario Generator (ESG). The main application of the ESG will be economic capital management and assistance in ALM decisions.
Part of the Baloise Group, Mercator writes both life and non-life business.
Speaking about Mercator's decision to switch from its previous provider, Mercator's Director of Risk Management, Wim Kinnet explained, "We chose Barrie & Hibbert's ESG because of its outstanding capabilities, particularly in relation to the capture of yield curve inversions. It was also important to us to know that our new provider has unparalleled expertise in the field and a strong commitment to the ongoing development of the ESG, its core product."
Regional Manager for France and Benelux at Barrie & Hibbert, Alexis Bailly said, "We are delighted to welcome Mercator to our community of Barrie & Hibbert ESG users. Our leading-edge solutions will help them enhance their multi-year risk projection capability as well as helping them achieve Solvency II compliance."
