First Epas protocol released for consultation

22 February 2010  |  1736 views  |  0 Source: Epas

Draft specifications of the Retailer protocol are published today for public consultation on the EPASOrg Website.

The EPAS protocols overcome the lack of interoperability between disparate systems by creating the conditions for a competitive market for card payments worldwide.

The EPAS Retailer protocol defines an interface between a sale and a payment system. It offers new innovative features such as: a clear separation between sale and payment, the support of a complete series of payment and loyalty services as well as a common approach for all types of architectures and environments.

This public consultation will allow stakeholders of the card-payment industry to provide comments to enhance the current draft specifications. A specific comment form is available on the EPASOrg Web site (www.epasorg.eu) for that purpose.

Interested parties are invited to send back comments by *** Monday, 19 April 2010 *** at the latest.
