Orc Software (SSE: ORC), the leading global provider of technology for advanced trading and connectivity, today announced that Banca Profilo has selected Orc Trading for its market making activities on the Italian equities market (MTA) and the Italian equity derivatives market (IDeM).

Founded in 1988 and listed at the Italian Stock Exchange, Banca Profilo is a privately held investment bank based in Milan, with offices throughout Italy and in Geneva. The order was booked in Q4 2009 and the contract is based on Orc's licensing subscription model.

"Orc Trading is a synonym of reliability and efficiency in the market making area," declared Paolo Muselli, Head of Organization & IT at Banca Profilo. "Orc Trading for market making truly impressed us for its high-performance capabilities, its sophisticated volatility and pricing tools and its complete mass quoting functionalities, all key factors in our preference for Orc."

"We are very proud that Banca Profilo has selected Orc to enhance their market making business on the Italian markets, thus also laying the foundation to sustain the bank's expansion into new instruments, markets and into new segments of trading," said Daniele Moressa, Sales Manager Italy, Orc Software. "Banca Profilo's choice further strengthens our ambition to become the preferred trading solution for all Italian market makers."
