Icap (IAP.L), the world's premier interdealer broker, has expanded its base metals broking business with the recent hire of Paul Phillips.

ICAP began broking London Metal Exchange (LME) base metals in January 2009, with a Category Two membership of the LME. ICAP offers broking services in futures, forwards and options on LME metals contracts.

Robert Rees, Global Head of LME, said: "We continue to expand our LME business on a global basis by hiring talented professionals with a strong track record of performance."
