Atrium Network, provider of smarter connectivity for the financial community today announced that it is building on its expansion into the Canadian market with low latency connectivity to Pure Trading, a Toronto-based competitive alternative auction market system aimed at attracting latency sensitive traders interested in Canadian exchange-listed securities.

Low latency connectivity will be provided by Atrium Network using the latest dark fibre technology into the heart of the Pure Trading data centre at 100 Wellington Street, Toronto, ensuring participants receive simple, resilient high-speed access to the Canadian financial community. On the 1st of February 2010, Atrium Network underscored their commitment to providing greater choice of access to the Canada market, one of the world's largest trading markets by opening two new PoPs (points of presence) at 100 Wellington Street and 151 Front Street.

Establishing connectivity to Atrium Network's PoPs provides high-speed access to the major trading hubs and is designed to mitigate the risk of any unnecessary co‐location investment. Participants can connect their trading engines seamlessly onto the extranet network and be assured of the lowest possible latency access to all available trading venues.

Commenting on Atrium Network's connectivity to Pure Trading, Emmanuel Pellé, Executive Director of Atrium Network said, "Pure Trading continues to attract new participants looking to trade securities listed on the Canadian Exchanges and we are delighted to not only assist Pure Trading's users take advantage of the opportunities in the marketplace as they arise, but also to build on Atrium Network's Canadian reach for our existing users."

Pure Trading's VP of Corporate Development, Richard Carleton, added, "Since launch we have continually sourced providers of innovative, low-cost, technology services in order to enhance the competitiveness of our offering while delivering cost efficiencies to our end client base. We are pleased to be able to add Atrium Network to our connectivity options and compliment Atrium Network on their innovation in the European and US markets."
