Garlik, the online identity experts, have today announced a partnership with Selftrade, one of the UK's largest execution-only stockbrokers.

By working with Garlik, Selftrade will be the first online broker to offer identity protection services to its customers in the form of two services: Selftrade Identity Monitor Lite and a full version of Selftrade Identity Monitor. The new Lite service will be offered free of charge to all Selftrade customers with the option of upgrading to the full Identity Monitor service at a discounted introductory price of £35 per year. The service will help Selftrade customers to protect their financial, personal and sensitive information from the risk of identity theft and financial fraud.

"As an online provider, we at Selftrade recognise that it is more important than ever for our clients to protect themselves in the best way possible from the risk of identity theft and fraud," commented Mark Pearson of Selftrade. "Our customers tend to be heavy users of the internet in general and we have seen from our research* over the last year that use of the internet for managing investments is increasing across the board. It is, therefore, vital that we are able to offer our customers the latest developments in online protection."

"This is an incredibly positive step by Selftrade. As more and more personal data becomes available online individuals need to take some level of responsibility for monitoring their own personal data," added Tom Ilube, CEO of Garlik. "It's very rewarding to be working with Selftrade in such a proactive manner and we're sure their clients will find the service a reassuring addition to managing their online activities."

The Selftrade Identity Monitor service is available to new and existing customers with immediate effect.
