RTS Realtime Systems Group (RTS), a leading trading solutions provider, announced that Mark van Vugt, Head of Global Sales, has been appointed to the firm's Executive Board.
The Executive Board is responsible for strategic direction as well as day-today management of the company. Van Vugt oversees all worldwide sales efforts and teams. RTS' client list includes many of the world's leading banks, brokers, hedge funds, statistical arbitrage groups, high frequency / low latency traders, market makers, investment firms, introducing brokers, exchanges and other market participants.

Van Vugt, 43, joined RTS in 2001 to open the firm's Amsterdam office. Upon the successful launch, he continued to run the office as Managing Director, Amsterdam, assuming responsibility in 2007 also for Germany and all of Continental Europe. In early 2009, he took over responsibility for sales and support for all of Europe, including the United Kingdom, before his promotion to Head of Global Sales in July 2009.
Van Vugt has been active in the financial industry from trading, to frontoffice and back-office software for more than two decades. Prior to joining RTS, Van Vugt had been with Euronext for 14 years. He began his career there as a floor official at the European Options Exchange in Amsterdam and earned his Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in 1993, after which he moved into management roles.
