RBC Capital Markets appoints Fokianos global head, FX e-trading

RBC Capital Markets, the corporate and investment banking arm of Royal Bank of Canada (RY on TSX and NYSE), the largest bank in Canada and the 14th largest bank in the world, today announced that it has hired Stamos Fokianos as a Managing Director and Global Head of FX Electronic Trading.

Based in London, Fokianos will report to Ed Monaghan, Global Head of FX, RBC Capital Markets.

Fokianos joins RBC Capital Markets from Standard Charted Bank, where he was Global Head of eChannels. Prior to this, Fokianos held FX eCommerce roles at Citibank and RBS.

Over the last 12 months RBC Capital Markets has hired in excess of 400 people throughout its global capital markets operations. RBC continues to demonstrate strength and stability in the market downturn - RBC has a Tier 1 Capital Ratio of 13% and is one of only six banks with a Triple A rating from Moody's.
