Advent Software (NASDAQ:ADVS) a leading provider of software and services for the global investment management industry, today introduced Advent's index data service, that allows clients to download index performance data from Standard & Poor's (S&P) and Russell Investments ("Russell") directly into Advent Portfolio Exchange (APX), Advent's award-winning, integrated portfolio and client relationship management solution.

Through Advent's index data service, APX clients can receive index performance data specifically formatted for APX, classified at both the industry and security level, on a daily or historical basis. Advent's index data service enables clients to leverage all of the power in the APX performance analytics reporting capabilities, where they can look at performance attribution and contribution reports which show their portfolio performance against S&P or Russell indices at the industry and security level. In addition, S&P Global Industry Classification Standard (GICS) sector-level index data, for use with APX's performance analytics reports, is available at no charge to all APX clients.

"The addition of Advent's index data service allows us to download index data directly to APX, saving us from the hassle of manually loading and reconciling the data," said Michelle Gosom, Vice President, Reed Conner & Birdwell, LLC. "The ability to load industry indices easily into APX using Advent's index data service is a key value proposition for our firm. It allows us to 'set it and forget it,' giving us one less thing to have to think about and saving us valuable time and resources."

"Advent continues to simplify the investment management process for our clients, and we are very pleased to extend our market data service to include access to index data," said Alison Swabowicz, Senior Product Manager for Straight-Through-Processing at Advent. "Using Advent's index data service, APX clients will be able to quickly respond to clients and portfolio managers' needs for performance analytics, streamline data management and operations workflows, and improve efficiency and accuracy in analyzing and reporting on performance."
