Kaplan Compliance Solutions (KCS), a leading provider of technology and services that eliminate paperwork and reduce compliance risk for companies in the insurance and securities industries, today announced that Jon Newhard has recently joined as Chief Operating Officer.

Newhard joins KCS from Infonic, plc of Reston, Va., where he served as Senior Vice President and Managing Director of the Geo-Replicator division, the company's largest division. Prior to Infonic, Newhard held high-level positions with SAP and Siebel Systems, where he helped grow two businesses to $100 million in revenue.

Newhard will focus on growing KCS' insurance and securities compliance business, including the company's software platform, Compliance Management System Generation 2(TM) (CMS G2(TM)), as well as its unique Licensing & Registration Services(SM) (LRS(SM)). LRS provides Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) services including partial and full lift-outs of the compliance function, where KCS maintains a state rejection rate less than one-tenth the industry average.

"Jon is a great addition to our team because he understands the value that we bring to our clients through our software and outsourcing services," said Jim Rosenthal, Chief Executive Officer of Kaplan Ventures. "His experience in identifying new growth opportunities and building industry partnerships will help us fulfill our plans for growth and expansion as we continue to be leaders in the compliance industry."

"I joined KCS because I am extremely impressed with their CMS G2 software solution. Having our LRS employees as extensive users of our own software gives us immediate feedback on our software from a committed user group," stated Newhard. "KCS' market expertise coupled with our unmatched flexibility and variety of compliance solutions enables us to tailor a unique compliance solution for each customer. KCS offers industry best practices that help our clients improve the operational efficiencies of their in-house licensing departments, as well as offering outsourcing of licensing through our LRS team. With KCS' in-depth expertise and proven solutions, we can transform insurance and financial services companies' compliance departments, which have traditionally been thought of as cost centers, into a true competitive advantage."

Newhard earned an MBA from Harvard Business School and a bachelor's degree in economics and engineering from United States Military Academy West Point.
