By offering this critical information, Accuity reinforces its ability to provide clients with what has become the industry's Golden Copy of payment data.

SEPA Direct Debits (SDD) enable bank customers to make and receive direct debits across the 32 European countries that compose the SEPA area. As of its November 2, 2009 launch, SDD offers a standardised and efficient way for both consumer and business-to-business customers to collect and process direct debit payments.

To effectively process SDD payments, payment originators must first be able to identify which banks have registered as participants within these schemes. Accuity has enhanced its payment data and now identifies SDD participants in its Global Payment FileTM-Plus, a comprehensive payments data source covering bank locales worldwide complete with Standard Settlement Instructions (SSIs) for specific financial institutions, and The Global Banking ResourceTM, a powerful online search engine that offers access to the most complete, global database of financial institution information available.

"As the leading provider of the data customers need to process SEPA-compliant payments and increase rates of payment STP, Accuity recognises the value and promise SDD holds for an integrated direct debit market," said Malcolm Taylor, Accuity's Managing Director, EMEA and Asia Pacific. "By providing the information necessary to quickly and easily identify banks participating in SDD, we can help our customers capitalise on the increased efficiencies that come from harmonised direct debit standards in the SEPA zone."

As the official provider of the European Payments Council SEPA adherence database, Accuity has developed a unique perspective and understanding of the data and solutions required to ensure effective payment processing and increase payment STP for customers making payments in the SEPA region.
