On the eve of the coming into force of the European Payment Services Directive (PSD), set for 1st November, the SIA-SSB Group is organizing the International Payments Summit "DO YOU SEPA? - Landing on the PSD planet", which will take place on Monday 26th October 2009 in Milan at Palazzo Mezzanotte, Piazza Affari 6.
The event, now in its fourth edition, represents a vital opportunity to discuss the questions crucial to the economic-financial, and also socialinstitutional, future of the European Union. More specifically, it will provide a chance to discuss the current scenario of SEPA, the Single Euro Payments Area, also analyzing the impact that the full application of the PSD will have on markets, public administration bodies and financial institutions, and how SEPA and PSD can help corporates overcome the effects of the current economic-financial crisis.
To provide answers to these and other questions, "DO YOU SEPA? - Landing on the PSD planet" will present the viewpoints of leading representatives from central banks, business associations, financial institutions and the major international groups.
Among the speakers will be Giovanni Sabatini (Director General, ABI), Daniela Russo (Director General, Payments and Market Infrastructures of the European Central Bank), Franco Passacantando (Managing Director for Central Banking, Markets and Payment Systems, Bank of Italy), Giampaolo Galli (Director General, Confindustria), Herman Segers (Secretary General, European Payment Council), Sergio Magnante (Vice President, Capgemini Italia), and Elio Lannutti (Chairman, ADUSBEF).
