Network Equipment Technologies ("NET") (NASDAQ:NWK) announced today that HarborOne Credit Union, the largest state-chartered community credit union in New England and one of the top 100 in the country, is deploying NET's VX Series to extend the capabilities of its VoIP-enabled, multi-branch environment.
NET's VX Series provides integration between HarborOne's Nortel PBX and its Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007 (OCS) environment.
NET's VX Series is a fully integrated multi-service voice switch that provides high-performance VoIP communications for enterprise OCS deployments. The VX Series interoperates with all leading PBX and IP-PBX vendor protocols, offering rapid deployment and easy installation, with minimal maintenance. HarborOne's VoIP implementation is part of the company's broader strategy to create a collaborative environment throughout all of its branch locations to ensure effective, cost-efficient communication among its regionally dispersed operations. Included in HarborOne's decision to use the VX was the added functionality of the platform, including the interface with Active Directory, as well as NET's superior technical support.
"NET's VX Series made it possible for us to seamlessly bring online two recently acquired branches with nearly no communications downtime. This was crucial for our customers, and also important to our new employees. The high availability and exceptional voice quality of the VX Series enabled us to extend the value of our Microsoft Office Communications Server environment and meet our aggressive collaboration goals," said Wayne Dunn, Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer. "Further, the VX Series enables us to provide our employees with remote communications tools should they need to work from home in the event of illness, which is an especially valuable functionality given concerns with the H1N1 virus."
HarborOne currently has 16 branch locations. The initial deployment of the VX Series at the company's recently acquired branch locations was complete in August of this year and a phased-in approach for the credit union's remaining branches and main office is scheduled over the next 12 months.
"Our ability to extend the features of Microsoft's Office Communications Server environment within nearly any type of existing network and telecom infrastructure makes our VX Series a compelling choice," said Francois Le, Vice President Global Sales at NET. "We are pleased to provide HarborOne with a solution to address their collaboration goals."
