Austrian software manufacturer Software Daten Service (SDS) has acquired its first Benelux customer in Luxembourgian Banque et Caisse d'Epargne de l'Etat (BCEE).

BCEE is to replace its proprietary customer securities application with GEOS, an international standard product which, alongside Austria and Germany, is already being used with considerable success in Ireland, Romania and Switzerland. The project will run for two years.

Michel Birel, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of BCEE: "After an intensive selection process, BCEE decided to replace its existing securities systems for institutional and private customers with GEOS. Our entire project team, users as well as the IT department were impressed with the extensive functionality of GEOS and its ability to integrate with our bank's existing systems. Besides the system itself, we have also been impressed by the professionalism and the hands-on support provided by the staff of SDS at all levels."

The Vienna team is also delighted to have forged a professional partnership. "We are proud to have BCEE as our customer as we take this opportunity to establish a strong presence on such an important European financial market as Luxembourg," says Dr. Helmut Saueregger, Managing Director of SDS. "This has only been made possible by the consistent international orientation of our software, which can be extended easily by adding customer and country-specific components."
