Oberthur Mexico service centre receives MasterCard and Visa certification

Oberthur Technologies, the world's second largest smart card provider, received both MasterCard and Visa magstripe and chip card certifications for its new service center located in Mexico City, Mexico.

The newly-certified facility can personalize up to 20 million secure payment cards, SIM cards and ID cards per year.

"The new service center in Mexico City expands Oberthur Technologies' reach into Latin America's rapidly growing EMV market," says Martin Ferenczi, Managing Director of the Americas Region of the Card Systems Division at Oberthur Technologies. "Oberthur Technologies localized services combined with our global expertise in EMV is able to fulfill the needs of our customers in this critical market."

Oberthur Technologies continues to increase its worldwide presence with more than 50 sales offices and a network of more than 30 service centers on 5 continents. This worldwide network uses the same tools to support a global approach to assist international financial institutions and to offer Disaster Recovery Capability. Over 1 million financial cards are issued everyday by Oberthur Technologies.
