The move further strengthens the RTS offering for clients interested in event-based trading opportunities, with RavenPack's computer-readable news analytics directly integrated into the RTD Tango algorithmic trading solution. The analytics are delivered within milliseconds of a news event.
Based in New York, RavenPack specializes in the area of "news analytics," and turns news into numbers that can be easily manipulated and consumed by quantitative models and trading programs. The firm's high performance news ticker plant processes close to 100,000 stories per day and generates analytics indicating sentiment and relevance of news items to 30,000 global stocks. In addition, RavenPack's technology filters news feeds based on the sentiment of more than 100 equity events such as bankruptcies, executive changes, mergers and acquisitions. RavenPack News Analytics are used to power a number of applications ranging from high frequency trading programs requiring low latency inputs, to risk and asset management models requiring factors whose time resolution may be daily, weekly and monthly.
