Effective September 1st, Scott Marquardt will assume the role of President of Giesecke & Devrient's U.S. subsidiary, Giesecke & Devrient America, Inc. (G&D).
Marquardt's career spans industries from paper and printing to cell phones, computers and semiconductors. He will play a key role as G&D looks to grow its business in banknote processing and security solutions for the mobile world. Marquardt joins G&D from SVTC Technologies, a spin-out from Cypress Semiconductor, where he was the Vice President of Sales, Marketing & Strategic Business Development. He was previously with NXP Semiconductors, Royal Philips Electronics and Apple Computer, Inc.
With primary locations in Dulles, VA, Twinsburg, OH and San Mateo, CA, G&D focuses on cards and services for telecommunications, payment, transit, and identification, plus banknote processing systems and services. G&D also cultivates new business innovations such as microSD cards with embedded smart card technology and zero-footprint tokens to secure logical access for remote users and cloud computing.
