Thomson Financial, an operating unit of The Thomson Corporation (NYSE: TOC; TSX: TOC), and leading provider of financial information and technology solutions to the worldwide financial community, today announced the appointment of Dan Parke as Managing Director of Thomson Financial Latin America.
Parke joins Thomson Financial from Bloomberg, where he served as Regional Director for Latin America for more than nine years.
Parke's geographical areas of responsibility include Mexico, Central America and South America where he will drive the planning, strategies, and programs for developing and selling best-in-class financial information and solutions. He will lead Thomson Financial's Sao Paulo, Brazil office and report to Chris Perry, Executive Vice President and Managing Director, Americas Sales at Thomson Financial's headquarters in New York, NY.

At Bloomberg, Parke was responsible for South America with territory expanded to include Mexico & Central America and was responsible for all of aspects of selling and developing Bloomberg products. He is credited with planning, managing and building Bloomberg's infrastructure in Latin America.
Earlier in his career, Parke worked for Catalina Marketing in NJ where he was a sales analyst, and before that at Nielsen Marketing research as a client service associate. He is a graduate of the University of Delaware where he received his Bachelor of Arts degree in both International Relations and Latin American studies.
He is the President of the Board of Directors of The Nature Conservancy do Brasil, an NGO dedicated to protecting the environment. As well, he serves on the school board for the American School of Sao Paulo (The Graded School). Parke also leads philanthropic endeavours in Latam including the "adoption" of a Brazilian public school in Sao Paulo.
