OpenWay has completed benchmark testing of WAY4 payment processing software conducted in Sun Microsystems' Solution Center located in the UK.
WAY4 has proven to successfully handle 60,000,000 cards in its database while processing 1170 authorisations per second on open platform. With that, OpenWay clients can rely on their processing infrastructure to support their business ambitions for years to come.
The WAY4 database contained 60 million credit cards. The complete data protection was ensured by the PA-DSS compliant WAY4 software. OpenWay specialists configured comprehensive processing rules for that portfolio, including validations of ISO8583 messages, positive balance authorisation, real-time risk control, and others.
The simulated transactions included ATM cash withdrawals and POS retail purchases to the cards randomly selected within the portfolio. WAY4 demonstrated an excellent average response time of 0.2 second per a single authorisation and managed to run the end-of-day for 8500 cards per second.
The IT environment consisted of Sun SPARC Enterprise M9000 with 32 UltraSPARC VII processors and 256 GB of RAM, Sun StorageTek 6540 disk array, Solaris 10 operating system and Oracle Enterprise Server 10.2.0.4.
"Software benchmarking is especially important today, when more and more services are demanded online", commented Wim Pardon, Managing Director of OpenWay Belgium. "Some banks and processors stick to traditional debit and credit cards, others advance with card-based deposits, loans, instalments. But all of them cope with the constantly-increasing online requests. Customer service quality directly depends on the performance of their payment processing solution and chosen IT platform".
"Sun and OpenWay serve financial institutions all over the world. We are delighted to be working with OpenWay to demonstrate to customers the enhanced processing and performance that this partnership brings", - said Pieter Heyn, Global Strategy Manager for Banking at Sun.
The Sun Solution Center hosts more than 4000 customer engagements annually and brings together the experience, expertise and leading edge technology of Sun and its partners in a state-of-the-art test lab environment.
