TMX Group Chief Executive Officer Thomas Kloet today announced the appointment of Glenn Goucher as Senior Vice-President and Chief Clearing Officer of the Canadian Derivatives Clearing Corporation (CDCC); and John McCoach as President of TSX Venture Exchange.

With these appointments, TMX Group further strengthens its executive team with leaders that have strong skills and a track record of accomplishment.

Glenn Goucher has served as a senior executive of the Montréal Exchange since 2001, most recently as Senior Vice-President, Financial Markets. In addition to driving the business, he has played an important part in the integration of the Montréal Exchange into the TMX Group. In his new position as head of the CDCC (effective August 24, 2009), he will continue to report to Montréal Exchange President and Chief Executive Officer, Alain Miquelon and be based in Montréal. CDCC is the issuer, clearinghouse, and guarantor of equity, index and interest rate financial derivative contracts traded on the Montréal Exchange.

"Glenn is a strong executive, with deep knowledge of our business and strong ties to the financial community," said Mr. Kloet. "Derivatives and associated clearing activities are key growth areas for TMX Group, and Glenn will help us drive this business forward both here in Canada and worldwide."

John McCoach is currently Senior Vice-President of the TSX Venture Exchange, and has served as a senior executive of the company since 2003. He has also served as a director of the Canadian Venture Exchange, predecessor of the TSX Venture Exchange from 1999 to 2001. Over the years, he has played a central role in the development and positioning of the TSX Venture Exchange as the Canadian leader in the public venture capital marketplace. Mr. McCoach will be based in Vancouver, with a permanent office in Calgary, and report to Kevan Cowan, President, TSX Markets and Group Head of Equities. His appointment is effective immediately.

"John has helped build the TSX Venture Exchange business and expand its reach internationally over many years," said Mr. Kloet. "In his expanded role, John will be focused on seizing new opportunities for growth both in Canada and abroad as the demand for growth capital for small and medium enterprises continues to ramp-up and investors seek a well-regulated market for venture investments," said Mr. Kloet.
