Bling Nation, a mobile payments provider, announced its partnership with Viaero Wireless, a nationwide wireless network provider based in Fort Morgan, Colo., which provides national cellular coverage, to provide mobile payments to the La Junta, Colo. community.
Bling Nation provides La Junta residents with a highly secure, local payments service that supports local businesses, while also allowing banks to avoid global network costs and keep money within the community. With the assistance of Viaero Wireless, Bling Nation will now be able to offer mobile banking to more La Junta citizens.
Through the partnership, consumer transactions via Bling Nation's Community Payments Service are sent over Viaero's secure and proprietary wireless network. Viaero Wireless provides SIM cards that go into the BlingTag Readers at the local merchant, which transmits consumer transaction information over the wireless network.
"We pride ourselves on being a cost-effective provider and represent the best value in wireless coverage today," said Frank DiRico, president of Viaero Wireless. "We recognize the outstanding value Bling Nation brings to the consumer, and our business is based on providing value to our customers, so there is a synergy there."
"Our partnership with Viaero Wireless represents the marriage of technology and community development," said Wences Casares, co-CEO of Bling Nation. "We are providing improved wireless service not only to consumers using our mobile payments network, but to the residents of La Junta at large. Bling Nation aims to enable mobile payments that are secure and more convenient for financial institutions, merchants and consumers nationwide."
Viaero recently expanded its coverage in Southeastern Colo. with several new towers in the La Junta area including one on the roof of the State Bank of La Junta. This ensures a strong, reliable wireless signal for the Community Payments Service. Viaero also plans to provide coverage for the Community Payments Service in Rocky Ford, Colo.
