Hypercom Corporation (NYSE: HYC) today announced that it has achieved the first two certifications for its 32-bit multi-application Optimum T4200 and M4200 countertop and mobile payment terminal family with GIE Cartes Bancaires, the national French payment authority.

Successful completion of the GIE Cartes Bancaires certification, which is one of the most comprehensive country certification processes in Europe, is a significant milestone for Hypercom and the Optimum product family. With the certification, Hypercom has commenced its launch campaign for the Optimum T4200 product series in France, where it is one of the top suppliers of card payment solutions.

"With the Optimum 4200 series, we are bringing high speed, high performance products to France's card payments sector, allowing retailers to expedite the fast and secure transmission of vital transaction data," said Kazem Aminaee, Managing Director, Southern EMEA, Hypercom Corporation.

This latest achievement follows the German Central Credit Committee's ZKA approval of the Optimum product family less than two months ago and strengthens Hypercom's position as a leading provider of secure payment solutions in Europe.
