Barnes International is pleased to announce the qualification of its MasterCard Card Personalisation Test Module (CPV module) for MasterCard Worldwide to the latest CPV Personalization Validation Tool (PVT) Requirements version 2.0.

This further adds to the effectiveness and accuracy of the Barnes CPT3000v3 and CAT3000v3 PVT Test Tools.

The new CPV 2.0 module complements the CAT3000v3 and CPT3000v3 Personalization Validation Test Tools to provide rigorous, comprehensive and rapid card validation prior to submission to MasterCard Worldwide for certification.

Barnes's module for CPV validation has been qualified by MasterCard Worldwide as a Test Tool based on MasterCard requirements. The CPV 2.0 module is just the latest addition to the CPT range and is part of an ongoing development program for the CPT3000v3 and CAT3000v3 Card Personalisation Validation Tools in widespread use by payment schemes, banks, card manufacturers, personalisation bureaux and test laboratories worldwide. This PVT version 2.0 qualification adds to tool confirmations by the other major international payment schemes.

The CPV 2.0 module is now available to existing and new users of the CPT3000v3 and CAT3000v3 Test Tools to allow them to pre-validate cards prior to certification using the same tests as employed by MasterCard Worldwide for M/Chip and PayPassTM card testing. The module is approved to validate card personalization to M/Chip - March 2008, M/Chip Personalization Data Specifications - May 2008, PayPassTM Personalization Data Specifications v 1.3 - May 2008 and One Smart Pre-Authorisation - January 2005.

The CPT3000v3 and CAT3000v3 are the latest version of Barnes' Personalisation Validation Tool (PVT) originally launched in 1999. They incorporate many excellent features and enhancements suggested by its worldwide customer base which have been added to the latest version of its most popular CPT series test tool. It is the quickest test tool of its type available, with thoroughness second to none and includes PCI/DSS compliance features.

Christian Delporte, Head of Chip Engineering at MasterCard Worldwide commented: "We are pleased that the CPV module offered by Barnes Interrnes International, a recognized player in the chip testing market, is qualified to CPV v 2.0 as part of the MasterCard program. MasterCard issuers will directly benefit from this test tool qualified to prepare for the formal Card Personalization Validation session. MasterCard will inform its customers about qualified test tools via the MasterCard OnLineTM website which reflect the latest status of all qualified tools."

Brian Summerhayes, Managing Director of Barnes International, said: "We are extremely pleased to announce this qualification of our CPV 2.0 module to MasterCard's latest PVT Requirements version 2.0. We have been working closely with MasterCard Worldwide for many years and this new version of CPV further improves the ability of MasterCard issuers, card manufactures and personalization bureaux to speed up the certification process. Using Barnes' CPV module with the user friendly CPT3000v3 and CAT3000v3 makes for the fastest and most thorough test tool. We shall continue to work closely with MasterCard and the other payment schemes to continue the process of improving and speed up card certification and quality control testing for issuers and manufacturers."
