Egyptian Exchange and Shenzhen Stock Exchange ink MoU

In its continuous efforts to enhance international relations on the regional as well as the global fronts, EGX signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Shenzhen Stock Exchange, China, on the 7th of June 2009 regarding mutual cooperation on capital markets' developments.

The MOU was signed by Mr. Maged Shawky- EGX Chairman and Mrs. Li Ping Song, President and CEO of Shenzhen Stock Exchange at the premises of the Egyptian Exchange.

The main fields of cooperation addressed in the MOU include exchange of information regarding the regulatory framework as well as exchanging experts, staff and experiences for the respective benefit of both securities markets. The MOU also called for activating research projects, studies and seminars undergone jointly by both exchanges to better understand the international exchange industry and the new products introduced to global markets.

Other areas of cooperation covered by the MOU, include the possibility of off-shore listing of traded as well as new investment instruments.

The MOU came in line with EGX strategic plan towards more exposure to both regional and international markets.
