Tsys, one of the world's largest providers of outsourced payment solutions, announced today the opening of a new office in Campinas, Brazil to complement its existing presence in São Paulo city.

TSYS has invested in the new facility to support its first client in Brazil, Banco Carrefour S.A., along with all future Brazilian projects.

Banco Carrefour S.A. is Brazil's leading hypermarket chain and will outsource its payment services to TSYS. The multi-year processing and related servicing agreement includes the retailer's hybrid and private label card business, and the launch of a new MasterCard-branded hybrid card in July 2009.

TSYS established a local infrastructure through the creation of a data center facility with IBM. The new office, which is located in close proximity to the data center, will provide further client support with a Brazilian-based operations team consisting of dedicated TSYS project managers and programmer analysts.

"The opening of the office in Campinas along with the creation of a data center and its office in São Paulo city represents the strength of TSYS' commitment to the Brazilian market," said Antonio Jorge de Castro Bueno, director of business expansion of TSYS in Brazil. "We view Brazil as a market that is strategic to TSYS international expansion and are focused on developing the infrastructure to support a long-term presence in the region. TSYS has the right people, service and technology to enable retailers and financial institutions to realize their payment strategies quickly and effectively, and our gold standard in service excellence has been central to our success during our 26-year history in the payments industry."
