At today's meetings of the new Supervisory Board and Advisory Board of Giesecke & Devrient (G&D), Dr. Peter-Alexander Wacker was elected as the new chairman of the Supervisory Board and Advisory Board.
Dr. Wacker has been a member of G&D's Advisory and Supervisory Boards since 2007. He succeeds Dr. Peter Mihatsch, who did not stand for re-election at G&D's last Shareholders' Meeting at the beginning of May.
The Shareholders' Meeting held at the beginning of May appointed Dr. Susanne Weiss and Prof. Gunter Reinhart as new Supervisory Board and Advisory Board members.
"We are delighted to have secured the services of such a high-profile international entrepreneur as Dr. Peter-Alexander Wacker to chair both these Group bodies," said Verena von Mitschke-Collande, owner of G&D.
After gaining a PhD in business studies, Peter-Alexander Wacker commenced his career at BMW AG. From 1996, Dr. Wacker was part of the management team at Wacker-Chemie GmbH, acting as President and CEO of the Executive Board from 2001 to 2008, serving at the end of the period as President and CEO of Wacker Chemie AG. Dr. Wacker has been Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Wacker Chemie AG since 2008.
