BancTec, a global provider of advanced, high-volume, document and payment processing solutions and services, today announced that it has created an independent working capital management and finance transformation advisory service called BancTec Consulting Management Services (CMS).

The service will assist clients working to institute treasury, risk management and working capital management best practices.

Michael J. Alfonsi, a recognized industry expert in repositioning finance for decision support and leadership, will lead BancTec CMS. Mr. Alfonsi has more than 20 years of experience helping companies to improve their treasury, risk management and working capital management efforts. He joins BancTec after 8 years as managing director with AnalyticResults, LLC.

"CMS is a logical extension of BancTec's competencies in producing value-based, business process transformation solutions. With this offering we can be even more effective with clients in delivering additional finance and working capital management solutions," said Jeff Brown, BancTec vice president for Business Process Outsourcing in the Americas. "Michael's deep financial expertise is an outstanding resource in helping our clients rapidly identify and deploy financial best practice, benchmarking, cost lean out and process transformation solutions that deliver returns in months, not years."

Alfonsi brings significant cost-reduction and operational improvement expertise to BancTec CMS. He has been recognized by several professional organizations for his client-partnering, finance transformation techniques that result in changing operational finance behaviors from a transactional focus to one of creating quality analysis and decision support for the entire organization.

Prior to his advisory roles, Alfonsi held positions in corporate finance and in banking. He is currently the knowledge content director for the executive education programs in finance and treasury at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill/Kenan-Flagler Business School, the University of California at Berkeley/Haas Business School, and Penn State University/Great Valley. Alfonsi holds several professional certifications including certifications in workplace performance, risk management and treasury management.
