Bell ID today announced that its Card & Application Management System (ANDiS) has been selected by Universal Payment Services, a leading transaction service provider of payment card services in the Middle East and Africa, to enable a full spectrum of EMV smart card issuing solutions.

Bell ID's ANDiS platform will initially perform EMV data preparation to provide EMV issuing services for multiple banking customers. As the full functionality of ANDiS can be implemented in phases, it will enable UPS to offer additional enhanced card services in subsequent stages. These include EMV scripting, parameter management, post issuance personalisation and instant issuance services.

The ANDiS Card & Application Management System is a fully vendor independent system, allowing UPS to select the smart card brand of their choice for its customers. The implementation includes integration with the RS2's Bankworks software.

Saad Doukali, Head of Business Development and Marketing at UPS, commented: "The investment in Bell ID's ANDiS System is of significant importance to support our position in the market. It secures future developments by selecting the leading standards of this dynamic industry. Bell ID was selected for its premium EMV migration solution, which will amplify the ability to differentiate ourselves. This will particularly apply to one of our persistent commitments to serve our customers best. With ANDiS, we will be able to easily adapt to their needs. The investment furthermore proves the commitment of UPS to provide state of the art solutions to its customers."
