Based on its award-winning GMT Planet workforce management solution, GMT On-Demand is a full-featured workforce management and performance optimization solution offered as a Software as a Service (SaaS) model.

Mechanics Bank, headquartered in Richmond, Calif., serves neighboring communities through its network of 32 retail branch offices. Founded in 1905 to serve railroad workers in Contra Costa County, Mechanics Bank provided a valuable service to these workers at a time when banks were few and far between and typically served only the privileged class. With almost $3 billion in assets, Mechanics Bank has stayed true to its heritage as a trusted financial partner for individuals and businesses in the area.

"Our core philosophy is to take care of our employees and, as a result, they will take care of our customers," explained Rauly Butler, senior vice president of branch operations for Mechanics Bank. "What differentiates Mechanics Bank is the experience level of our employees and our commitment to our customers and the communities we serve. It was clear to us that we needed a solution that would help us reduce wait times in the office on busier days, ensure the right level of staff was available on slower days and provide retail office employees with ready access to their dynamic schedules. After a thorough evaluation of other solutions, we selected GMT based on the comprehensiveness of their offering and for their reputation for delivering on the promise."

Mechanics Bank joins other leading banks throughout the world - such as BB&T, Bank of the West, Zions Bancorporation and First Merit - in deploying GMT Planet to forecast and schedule bank branch staff. These customers have reported significant improvements in capacity forecasting, operating efficiency, customer wait times and sales productivity through their use of GMT solutions.

GMT On-Demand for Banking is a full-featured solution using the award-winning GMT Planet workforce optimization product delivered as a hosted offering. Ideally suited for banks of all sizes, GMT On-Demand for Banking is priced on a month-to-month subscription basis. This extends the value of GMT workforce optimization to those clients who have limited capital funding or minimal information technology support.

"GMT is delighted to be selected by Mechanics Bank to help support its branch effectiveness initiatives. GMT distinguished itself throughout Mechanics Bank's evaluation process as a company providing an easy-to-use solution that can be implemented rapidly and supported with confidence and success," said Simon Angove, chief executive officer of GMT. "GMT On-Demand provides an attractive alternative for those institutions with limited capital budgets that otherwise would not be able to avail themselves of the benefits of workforce management and performance optimization."
