VeriSIM the leading provider of strategic simulation solutions to the financial services sector, has appointed the vastly experienced industry figure Mervyn Farrant as Non-executive Chairman.
Farrant, aged 59, brings a wealth of experience to the company, having advised and served on the boards of more than 25 companies during an impressive career devoted to the IT sector.
His appointment follows the company's successful completion this year of a £1.2m funding round led by Albany Ventures and Scottish Equity Partners.
"We are delighted to welcome Mervyn Farrant to lead our board," commented VeriSIM chief executive James Anderson. "He brings a wealth of experience, working with both early-stage growth and mature businesses. His particular expertise gained from involvement with companies that provide technology solutions to the financial services sector is of great value to VeriSIM."
Farrant, who sold his own consulting and software development business in 1992 following a long career with many leading IT businesses, will lead VeriSIM's board and senior management team as it extends its reach in the financial services sector.
"VeriSIM is an extremely exciting company which has quickly established itself as the leading provider of simulation solutions to financial institutions. As the financial sector increases the online services it offers to customers and continues to deploy ever more complex systems to their employees, continued uptake of VeriSIM's solutions will remain a key factor in optimising their success," commented Mervyn Farrant.
"I am delighted to become involved in the company at a particularly exciting time as it develops and exploits its market position in the UK. VeriSIM provides solutions which are keenly sought in the marketplace and helps businesses benefit earlier from their investment in IT."
