BNY ConvergEx names Nicholas Colas chief market strategist
BNY ConvergEx Group, LLC, a leading provider of global agency brokerage and investment technology solutions, announced today that Nicholas Colas has been appointed as the firm's chief market strategist.

Mr. Colas, who joined the organization in 2006, also serves as the director of research for BNY Jaywalk, the independent equity research consultancy of BNY ConvergEx Group.
Before joining ConvergEx, Mr. Colas spent three years at Rochdale Securities, LLC, a provider of brokerage and independent research services, where he founded the equity research team and was responsible for the development of the firm's proprietary valuation model.
Prior to his tenure at Rochdale, Mr. Colas served as a portfolio manager at SAC Capital and Silver Capital Management. Earlier in his career, he was a senior equity analyst at Credit Suisse First Boston. Mr. Colas holds an M.B.A. from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business and a B.A. from Haverford College.
