Christian Katz will become Chief Executive Officer of the Cash Markets Division of SIX Group from May 2009.
As such, he also becomes CEO of SIX Swiss Exchange and takes a seat on the Group Executive Board of SIX Group.
Christian Katz succeeds Christoph Bigger, who has been serving as ad interim head of the Cash Markets Division and will, in the future, concentrate once again on leading SIX Swiss Exchange Business Development and Operations.
Christian Katz has been responsible for the Equities Division of Goldman Sachs in Zurich since 2006. He previously worked for eight years at JP Morgan Chase in London, first as Country Head Equities Sales for Switzerland, and subsequently as Head of Research Marketing for Europe. Katz also has considerable international experience from his earlier roles at the London Forfaiting Company and at SBC Warburg.
Christian Katz graduated in Business Studies and Finance from the University of St. Gallen and went on to gain a doctorate in economics. He has also been involved in international banking issues in the past, as an academic writer and lecturer.
