Smart Trade Technologies, a leader in liquidity management systems (LMS) for the financial markets, today announced it has appointed Neil James as vice-president, sales and business development, UK.

Based in Smart Trade's new London offices, James brings 18 years' experience to the newly created position.

Reporting to Harry Gozlan, founder and CEO, he will work with top tier banks, brokers, asset management firms and exchanges to implement advanced smart order routing (SOR) and crossing patterns within their trading and market-making infrastructures. James joins Smart Trade from GL Trade, recently acquired by SunGard, where he served as a senior sales account manager for the EMEA and Nordic regions.

"Neil has solid record of growth with tier 1 and 2 level investment banks and securities firms dealing with equities, derivatives, FX and fixed income trading, which makes him a strong addition to our sales group in Europe," said Gozlan. "His technical and trading knowledge and background in building and managing relationships with clients will prove to be an asset in our effort to expand our presence in London, matching 2008 growth in France, the U.S. and Canada."

James spent over seven years at the International Capital Markets Association (ICMA), the 600-member organization spanning 50 countries, where he managed client relationships dealing with electronic trading, matching, reporting and risk management systems. He has also held business development positions at Logica and Intech Solutions.
