The implementation is underway with Phase I live, and Phase II targeted for completion in Q1 2009.

BTG is a global investment firm that will operate in all asset classes with multiple strategies, from emerging market fixed income to IR derivatives and more general global macro strategies. The configuration of users will be based in London, Brazil, the U.S. and Hong Kong, and in 2009 the VALUE system will be employed by up to 50 users across the globe.

Callum Runcie, Head of Hedge Fund Sales, Sophis UK said: "The current market climate has highlighted the need for high standards of risk and portfolio management procedures. We are delighted to provide BTG-Invest with cross-asset, front-to-back infrastructure that will meet the requirements of increasingly sophisticated investors across the globe. This mandate has additional significance for Sophis as it represents our first signing with a market player that has a presence in Latin America. At 10 weeks from signing the deal to go-live, it is also one of our fastest implementations yet, and includes traders operating in four different locations on multiple investment strategies."

Andy Felce, one of the BTG founders said: "After an extensive search by BTG, Sophis VALUE stood out as the best system to provide the infrastructure for the launch of our investment business in the various jurisdictions where BTG operates. BTG had an aggressive timeline and the Sophis team was able to work to our tight implementation schedule. In addition, Sophis has the ability to add models and functionality quickly as BTG expands."
