Italian issuing and acquiring specialist Si Servizi is strengthening its payments capabilities after signing a deal with Transaction Network Services (NYSE:TNS) for network connectivity and payment transaction processing services.

Si Servizi is part of CartaSi Group, the leading card issuer and acquirer in the Italian market. It provides companies, banks, and financial institutions with electronic payment systems services and solutions that support both front and back office activities.

The organization will use TNS' services for dial up connectivity to process payment transactions over the Public Switched Telephone Network. Si Servizi will also utilize a special function of the TNSOnline solution to allow its customers to monitor transaction activity through terminal identification numbers rather than phone numbers.

Antonio D'Aloia, Chief Executive Officer at Si Servizi said: "We chose TNS because they are highly regarded in the payments industry. They understand our needs and are willing to work with us to cater services in order to meet our individual requirements."

The TNSOnline solution is a web based network management portal which allows Si Servizi to monitor network devices, view transaction activity in near real time, and provide problem management status.

Si Servizi can also rely on the security and performance of the TNS' global PCI-DSS certified backbone network and 24x7x365 helpdesk services with live real-time support.

Giovanni Miste, Sales Manager for TNS Italy, added: "Unlike many of our competitors, TNS has a unique focus on transaction services. We strive to do all we can to help our customers process payment transactions more quickly and easily; this not only gives them peace of mind, but also allows more time to devote to other core business responsibilities."
