Ex AIM head joins Plus Markets

PLUS Markets Group has appointed Rachel Maguire as its new Head of Strategic Development and Marketing.

Reporting to Cyril Theret, Director of Business Development, Rachel will undertake a variety of strategic business development initiatives, both in the UK and internationally, as well as taking over marketing for the new stock exchange.

Rachel joins PLUS from RiskMetrics Group where she was international head of governance account management. She brings with her a wealth of experience, as Director of Marketing at top 25 UK law firm, Wragge & Co and from the London Stock Exchange where she was Head of UK Business Development and Head of AIM UK. At the LSE, Rachel headed account management and business development of the UK Main Market and AIM, as well as prospective companies and advisors.

While Rachel was at the LSE it transformed from a mutual organisation to a listed company, and rejected a number of potential mergers and takeovers, during which time AIM developed significantly.

Rachel chaired the original PLUS Advisory Group from 2004 to 2006, and more recently she returned to PLUS as strategic consultant.

A graduate of the University of Birmingham with a combined honours degree in English and German, Rachel is also a member of the Chartered Institute of Taxation.

Business Development Director, Cyril Theret notes: "Rachel is a great addition to our team. Her formidable knowledge and experience of the markets, particularly in the small and mid-caps, is second to none. Furthermore, she knows PLUS very well having formerly chaired our advisory group and we expect her strategic input to be invaluable in PLUS' future growth."
