This will be the first-ever auction of UK Carbon Allowances. The United Kingdom Debt Management Office ("DMO"), the Executive Agency of Her Majesty's Treasury for the auction of UK EU Emissions Trading System ("ETS") allowances, will conduct the auction on behalf of the Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC).

Since 2006, the DMO has used the Bloomberg Bond Auction System for the collection of bids at all auctions of UK Government securities (gilts). Bloomberg has enhanced its auction system to facilitate the auction of UK-issued EU Allowances, reflecting its ongoing commitment to the development and support of the global financial markets.

The Bloomberg Auction System, which is accessible on the BLOOMBERG PROFESSIONAL service via the function AUCS < GO >, allows issuers to perform their auction tenders with dealers selected by the issuer, who submit their bids via Bloomberg.

Bloomberg has demonstrated a continuing commitment to sustainability and to the emissions markets, with the most comprehensive suite of information and analytics for investors in the emissions markets. The BLOOMBERG PROFESSIONAL service integrates news, pricing, statistics and legal and regulatory information on all major emissions markets around the world including the EU ETS. Bloomberg users can find more information via the function EMIS < GO > on the BLOOMBERG PROFESSIONAL service.
