They include James Baker who moves from Paris to Summit's London operation to become Director of Front Office Support, and Alexis Viry who has joined from BNP Paribas and will assume the position of Head of Front Office for the Interest Rate Derivatives and Credit Group. It is anticipated that these roles will further advance Summit's product strategy in the areas of credit derivatives and structured products.
James Baker has been with Summit for over 10 years, joining Summit's New York office in the financial engineering team and later filling various roles including heading up Business Development to work on new business areas and partner relations. He then moved to Summit Paris to run the Front Office Rates and Credit Support team. James' new role is Director of Front Office Support in London where he will command a team of business experts in the areas of derivatives, treasury and financial engineering.
Replacing James in Paris is Alexis Viry. Alexis has an extensive banking background having worked for the past 15 years at two major investment banks. He joined from BNP Paribas where he was Head of Swap Trading for Europe. He was previously at Dresdner KB where he was responsible for developing new pricing models for interest rate options and new arbitrage strategies in the bond, swap and futures market.
Emmanuel Fruchard, Director of Front Office and Financial Engineering for Summit comments on the two appointments, "At Summit we believe in promoting talent from within and I am pleased to see James moving to head our front office team in London. His new role will be challenging as markets become more and more sophisticated in their needs for handling more complex products - London is one of the markets that is quick to adopt new instrument types. I am delighted that James is being replaced by Alexis Viry. His extensive experience in pricing models and more complex products is just what we need to grow Summit's expertise in this area."
