Banco Guipuzcoano France chooses Viveo for single-platform Sepa and SIT payments

IT and banking consultancy the Viveo group has announced that the French branch of Banco Guipuzcoano has contracted to install its V.bank Payment solution for the global management of its payment instruments.

This technological choice is a follow-on from the close working relationship built up over more than 15 years between Viveo and the Basque bank, which specialises in cross-border operations between France and Spain. It will allow the French subsidiary of Banco Guipuzcoano to manage its Système Interbancaire de Télécompensation (SIT) and single euro payment area (Sepa) payment instruments using a single platform.

Nicolas Metivier, director of the Payment Business Unit for the Viveo group, explains, "The choice of our solution was an integral part of the strategy of the French subsidiary of Banco Guipuzcoano to rapidly benefit from a payment instrument management platform that is perfectly suited to its size and to both current and future business requirements. Aside from the technological pertinence and the exhaustiveness of V.Bank Payment, this choice is proof our ability to respond to the regulatory requirements of a bank that has to implement a management system for European payment instruments."

Under the terms of the agreement, the Viveo group will be responsible for the deployment of V.bank Payment and various inherent services. The solution is due to be in production in October 2008.
