StreamBase Systems, a leading provider of high-performance complex event processing (CEP) software, today announced the hiring of Terrence Kim as Director of Product Management.
Kim previously ran global product management for the ITG Net division of Investment Technology Group. He has also worked at State Street Corp., WestLB AG, and Wellington Management Company, LLP. Before this, Kim worked with an online FIX company, focusing on the development and streamlining of electronic trading workflow. He started his career trading futures and options contracts.
Kim has more than ten years of experience in the financial sector, having worked on the development and execution of next generation trading strategies, trading workflow enhancements and new business strategy. Kim has developed and implemented next generation trading technologies across different asset classes for some of the largest and most prestigious buy-side and sell-side institutions.
At StreamBase, Kim will be responsible for developing overall product strategy, identifying market requirements and continuing to develop StreamBase's frameworks for capital markets. Kim will report to Senior Vice President of Engineering Larry Derany.
"As a former trader I can see how StreamBase solves complex real-time trading problems," Kim said. "By providing pre-built solution frameworks for areas such as Real-Time Profit and Loss, Market Data Management and Smart Order Routing, StreamBase rapidly decreases the time to market relative to home-grown solutions, yet still provides the flexibility that customers demand."
"We are delighted to welcome Terrence to StreamBase," CEO Mark Palmer said. "Terrence's years of experience in trading and technology implementation will be a great asset as we continue to expand our reach in the capital markets."
