Wausau Financial Systems (WFS) today announced the addition of Charlie Gibbons as its Executive Vice President of Strategic Business Development.
Gibbons has over 30 years of highly successful executive and strategic management experience in all facets of the outsourcing industry. Recognized by many as an outsourcing pioneer, Gibbons has worked closely with major corporations such as IBM, Shell Oil, Avon Products, Dun & Bradstreet and PricewaterhouseCoopers.
Gibbons will help set and execute WFS' strategic direction in its newly announced outsourcing venture with First Data Corporation, which will allow WFS the ability to provide full-service processing. Gibbons role will include setting the strategic focus for the outsourcing initiative, including the coordination of all sales, marketing, product management, operations and product development efforts.

The WFS payments solution includes technology that was rated "Best of Breed" by Boston-based Celent and "Best in Class" by analyst firm Aite Group. WFS is the market leader in remittance technology, with technology solutions that process nearly 4 billion transactions annually.

Prior to joining WAUSAU Financial Systems, Gibbons served as president of Geller Services LLC, a division of the accounting and tax outsourcing firm Geller & Company. He also served as a key strategist for Electronic Data Systems and was a managing director for global business process outsourcing at PricewaterhouseCoopers. In the mid 1990's Gibbons was president and CEO of Dun & Bradstreet Services, an outsourcing subsidiary of Dun & Bradstreet Corporation. When the corporation changed direction, Gibbons launched the venture on his own and grew it to annual revenues of $450 million as Intellisource. He began his career with IBM, and over a 26 year period, served this global company as manager and senior executive in a variety of areas including outsourcing services, national accounts, product line evaluation and sales and marketing.
