National bank of Abu Dhabi becomes SII corporate member

National bank of Abu Dhabi (NBAD), The Number One Bank in the UAE, today announced that it has become the first UAE corporate member of the Securities & Investment Institute ('SII'), the leading and most widely respected professional body for those who work in the securities and investment industry.

The decision reflects NBAD's keen interest in promoting and improving good corporate governance practices. Corporate Membership of the SII represents NBAD's public commitment to excellence, quality and integrity. Corporate membership carries responsibilities such as actively supporting individual membership of the SII, encouraging staff to take SII examinations, maintaining NBAD staff's ongoing competence through SII's Continuing Professional Development (CPD), and endorsing and adhering to the SII code of conduct.

At NBAD we believe good corporate governance has a significant positive effect on our performance as it enhances corporate accountability, hence, improve business relationships with stakeholders" said Mr. Abdulla Mohammed Saleh AbdulRaheem, NBAD's Senior General Manager and Group Chief Operating Officer.
