api IP has launched its new technology infrastructure to manage payments transactions via fuel cards and the loyalty card system.

The project - developed by TSP - Tecnologie e Servizi per il Pubblico, a SIA-SSB Group company specializing in systems and services for corporates and public administration - connects around 5,000 POS terminals at the 3,600 api IP service stations involved in the project.

The new infrastructure will carry all the payments operations relating to CartaMaxima (the api IP fuel card designed for the corporate mobility market) and all the other fuel cards accepted on the api IP network. Additionally, this system will allow customers to earn points on their loyalty card and order gifts at all participating api and IP service stations.

From today customers can pay for fuel without the need to use cash or cash advances, thereby simplifying the paperwork while guaranteeing greater transparency and security.

"We are particularly satisfied with the implementation of this project - commented Antonella Papeschi - Head of api Retail - which offers us dual benefits: firstly, it gives customers the chance to accumulate points and request gifts using a single card which, in turn, can be used at service stations in both the api and IP networks. Secondly, it represents a profound and tangible sign of the integration of the api IP network which we have been working towards for some time now. In addition, POS management at the service stations has been significantly simplified thanks to the unification of the system."

"The creation of the new network infrastructure for api IP - commented Francesco Orlandini, Chief Executive of TSP (SIA-SSB Group) - provides further proof of the Group's unique abilities and competences in developing, also through the use of electronic cards, integrated services and solutions in the fields of payments and loyalty systems. This important project at national level gives us great satisfaction because it has allowed TSP to propose its services as a single project partner, providing api IP with advanced systems in order to seize opportunities for market growth and development".
