CR2, a global provider of channel and Internet banking, ATM and card payment software solutions, has today announced that Banque Misr in Egypt is extending its ATM offering to customers with BankWorld ATM Client.

Banque Misr, Egypt's second largest bank, will implement BankWorld ATM to drive its ATM network. With the addition of 120 new ATMs, Banque Misr is almost doubling its current channel offering, bringing the total number of ATMs to 300 throughout Egypt - a huge choice for its customers.

Banque Misr General Manager Mrs Hoda Shoukry says: "Banque Misr has an excellent relationship with CR2 having successfully used its products for 14 years now. With the addition of the 120 new ATMs it made sense to also extend the facilities we can offer using this channel. The new software allows us to do just that."

Amongst the additional features, which Banque Misr will be offering are cash note acceptance and foreign exchange. Cash Acceptance allows customers to lodge bank notes via the ATM. The significant difference between this and usual cash acceptance methods is that the money is not lodged in an envelope, manually counted by a bank employee and then manually lodged to the account. Instead when lodged, it is counted by the ATM and then automatically and immediately credited to the customer's account - all without human intervention.

Banque Misr will also offer foreign exchange via the ATM. Customers will be able to exchange currencies such as US Dollars pounds and withdraw Egyptian pounds.

"Banque Misr has been a pioneer in adopting the use of IT in the sector", said Cian Kinsella, CEO, CR2. "The bank has always been very customer focused, these new initiatives will take customer service levels at the bank to new heights."
