In conjunction with today's release of Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) version 1.2., the PCI Security Vendor Alliance (PCI SVA) announced its new board of directors, the establishment of Technical and Validation committees, and the addition of new members.
The PCI SVA works with the retail and payment card industries to develop efficient and cost-effective ways to assist merchants in achieving compliance with the PCI DSS, a global benchmark intended to improve security throughout the entire payment card transaction process.
"We're excited to welcome new board members to the organization," said Alan Bird, president of the PCI SVA. "Their addition, along with the creation of our new committees, further positions the Alliance as the go-to resource for information on PCI DSS compliance and data security issues."
New board members to the PCI SVA include:
- Davi Ottenheimer - ArcSight, Secretary/ Treasurer
- Jack Danahy - Ounce Labs, Board Member
To date, there are no organizations that assist merchants with identifying the necessary solutions for meeting PCI DSS 1.2 compliance. In response, the PCI SVA's new Technical Committee, chaired by Dave Shackleford, Configuresoft, and new Validation Committee, chaired by Chris Farrow, Configuresoft, will leverage their combined experience to develop new tools that will help merchants determine best-of-breed PCI DSS solutions for addressing version 1.2.
Finally, the PCI SVA welcomes new members Alert Logic, AEP Networks, Log Logic, and Voice Print International (VPI).
