VeriFone Holdings (NYSE: PAY) today announced the creation of an Integrated Systems Group for Latin America to deliver integrated payment solutions and services and exploit new market segments and opportunities throughout the region.
Gustavo Jimenez has been appointed vice president and general manager of the new group, reporting to Fernando Lopez, vice-president and general manager of VeriFone Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC). Jimenez was previously VeriFone vice president of business development for the region.
"The momentum obtained by our continued success in the region allows us to dedicate resources focused on delivering end-to-end solutions in key vertical markets," said Lopez. "Gustavo, with his vast experience, will be instrumental in our efforts to leverage our core solutions with services including consulting, systems design, systems integration, project management and implementation."
The LAC Integrated Systems portfolio will include VeriFone's PAYware payment processing software solutions, as well as a variety of solutions for specific market segments including petroleum, unattended, multilane retail, transportation, government and healthcare. These markets present attractive growth potential for VeriFone in fiscal year 2009.
