Taiwan Stock Exchange (TWSE) announces the appointment of Mr. Chi Schive as its Chairman to assume responsibility for Taiwan Stock Exchange's strategy and operations.

Mr. Schive was appointed to head TWSE with the mission of executing the plan of the Executive Yuan (the Cabinet) and developing Taipei into an Asia-Pacific financial center. The Sworn In ceremony was held last Friday.

"It is a great honour to be the Chairman of Taiwan Stock Exchange. I would like to thank the former Chairman, Dr Rong-I Wu, for his initiatives and dedication to push for market reforms in Taiwan.

"We will continue the strides in making our exchange more competitive through continuous market reforms, promoting Taiwan companies listed overseas to return to the exchange for listing; development of new financial products which tailor to market's needs; and implementation of the new administration's capital market policy.

"I believe Taipei will be one of the leading and most prosperous financial cities in Asia and I am committed to seeing this happens," said Mr Schive.
