Heartland Payment Systems (NYSE:HPY), a leading provider of credit/debit/prepaid card processing, payroll, check management and payments services, has teamed with Identification Systems Group (ISG), a nationwide network of suppliers of identification and card issuing products and services.
This partnership will bring Heartland's campus card programs - provided through its Campus Solutions division - to an expanding network of colleges and universities nationwide.
ISG will now offer its clients Heartland's Campus Solutions' OneCard System, providing them with a full suite of card services and functionalities. The OneCard system offers campuses all aspects of card technology use including student, faculty and staff identification; dining; access control; security; vending; print control; recreation and event management; equipment rental; parking; voting; activity verification and more. The modular system provides both hardware and software to meet the expanding card technology needs of campuses.
When powered by Heartland's Give Something Back Network, the OneCard and its duplicative contactless tag give campuses expanded functionality for their one-card systems. The card and tag - which can be affixed to cell phones, PDAs and other portable devices - can be used in a variety of ways from paying at vending and laundry machines to providing facility access, checking out library books, buying meals and receiving financial aid, tuition reimbursement and refunds - even paychecks. Additionally, when used for off-campus purchases, the card/tag allows students, faculty and staff to "give something back" by automatically making charitable donations back to the sponsoring school with every purchase.
Heartland Campus Solutions and Heartland's Give Something Back Network were recently recognized by Card & Payments magazine for this pioneering payments solution and visionary approach to campus payment solutions.
"There are an estimated 4,000 colleges, universities and institutions of higher education across the United States," said Ron Farmer, executive director of Heartland Payment Systems Campus Solutions. "By partnering with ISG, we are able to reach a large number of these schools, offer them tremendous cost savings and support them with local sales and customer service."
"Joining with Heartland allows ISG to meet a demand from our network of colleges and universities for expanded products and services," said Tom Stiles, operations manager for ISG. "Across the country and throughout our network of schools, we consistently receive requests for new and innovative ways for students to use the one-card programs. Heartland's OneCard and Give Something Back Network were easily the best choice for our contacts."
